Have you even thought about gravity, it might be just the illusion of something else, everybody I’ve talked to has just started dropping thing in front of me and saying "here it is" but did you know it is just the "THEORY" of gravity. Therefore it can not be actually proven as one can only see the effects of gravity and not know exactally what it is. in one Dilbert comic Dogbert was thinking to himself.
Dogbert:
Sometimes I think gravity is only an illusion. Maybe other great thinkers realized that Gravity is mental and were thus freed of its restictions. Which could explain why all the smart people were appartently been flung into space."
Now that is just a funny way to say it and I’m not saying it is mental, but it is logical isn’t it?
Now if you know please prove my puny brain wrong. |

It’s not only holding an anvil up 200 feet and watching it drop, an important part of it is that the longer it drops, the faster it gets. Also, other aspects of gravity like shooting an anvil up in the air watching it slow down, stop suddenly, than fall back down, than speed up. Perhaps we are not accurate on exactly what this force is, which is why it is a theory. But just because something is a fact )because it can be studied and observed) doesn’t mean it is not related to a theory. By that I mean facts and theories don’t have to be contradicting, they often go hand in hand. Like the anvil, it’s a fact that the anvils do those things, and those behaviors of the anvil were examples of the theory of gravity.
As for an illusion, referring to gravity as an illusion implies that are mind or some other force is manipulating our senses (or perhaps are mind) to believe that such thing exists. But to believe this, you have to believe that this world can have bi-culture and even bi-species similarities in our sensory distortions. And if we as humans (or animals on earth) have a pre-natal distortion for such gravity, than how can such animals go to other places in the atmosphere that said gravity does not exist? Does this distortion only occur on earth? If the illusion is a sensory distortion in animals, is it that which prevents humans from floating in the air? If thats the case, what mental and sensory capacity does an anvil or any other inanimate object have to cause it to be effected by gravity?
In conclusion, the idea of gravity not being real was prolly some philosphers attempt to raise some controversy and get his name out there. |

If some philosopher has suggested that gravity simply doesn’t exist, that’s obviously a load of crap.
The "legitimate" question is, is gravity what we understand it to be? (That is, does all matter in the universe really attract all other matter with a gravitational pull?) |

Just because gravity isn’t what "we understand it to be" doesn’t make it an illusion. But there might be some minor flaw in the theory, which may or may not change something significant. But the "fact" stands, it’s seemingly impossible for gravity to be an illusion. But since we are unable to visualize such subject, we are not completely sure how it works, so there is a possibility we are slightly wrong in some aspects, but in general it’s good enough. |

by the way, I am Gagnut’s brother and I posted this subject when he was logged in. 3 things.
1. I didn’t mean that the force of Gravity didn’t exist I meant that it is probably not what the Thoery says it is.
2. the different variations of people trying to prove gravity to me have been, dropping a pensel in front of me 50 times, trying to prove it by picking me up and dropping me, then elf lvr’s anvil.
3. I realized that I wasn’t being clear when I said Gravity did not exist, I meant gravity as we know it not the "Force of Graviy"
