Hello, cobra cards player community. Good-bye, those of you that play lotr. This particular thread is meant for the MTG people. I have recently dropped a card game that was eating up a nice percentage of my cash, and I was thinking about starting up MTG.
If I do, what do you all recomend as a purchase to get me started in the MTG field? What should I get, what should I stay away from? Anything that would help a new player on his way to greatness.
Any help would be appreciated.
(No, everyone, the card game I dropped is not LOTR, so don’t worry). I only didn’t put this on the MTG open discussion because Im not so sure it fit there, if cobra thinks it does, he can move it. |

I’ve been looking into MTG for a while now, and a few people I know play it, or at least used to play it, and enjoyed it. I might want to try my luck.
EDIT: menace said he dowloaded the online game. where can I find this online game. |

Oh, and BTW, I’m perfectly suited to answer your questions on this, since I stopped playing MTG to play LotR, and then dropped it, and started playing MTG again, like, 2 months ago... I don’t think I have 2.000 cards, yet, INCLUDING Commons and Uncommons...  |

Sorry, I never read your post above! The program is called Apprentice, and you can get it here. It’s got all editions so far, so you can try them out as you like.
Hope you like the game, you would be a fine addition to our Forums! You could also consider joining the Gathering, if you really decide to pick it up. And, well, LotR IS coming to an end anyway, so you’ll be out of card games to play in a while... Actually, that was one of the reasons I quit. The other was the prices here being to steep back then. If only I knew Cobra Cards earlier... |

Also, my local card shop went out of business a little while ago, and just before the game-revolutionizing release of hunters, too... which was unfortunate.

if you happen tohave MSN (or download it, since it’s not that heavy of a program), I can run a few hands with you sometime.
I can also send you some built decks, so you can try them. Really easy ones, to get the hang of the game and its phases, and all. And reading a Comprehensive Rulebook and a FAQ on Wizards might help. |
