| I was just trying to vote for one of the articles in the Article contest and it wouldn’t let me vote. Why not? |

Hey Cobra, Tyler (Ninja Gimli) created his account on the same computer as mine (He’s a friend of mine). I noticed that it won’t let him vote for articles, give me GP, and I can’t give him GP. Is this some sort of bug in the system, or a security measure or something? And are friends allowed to vote for other friends’ articles?  |

| Might be a security thing, since if you’re using the same computer, you’re sending from the same IP. It must be an anti-spambot measure. I’m sure Cobra can bypass it. |

Its a thing set up, from what I can tell, to prevent people from creating multiple accounts and awarding themselves mass ammounts of gp and/or give them self good ratings on their decks, etc.
So ninja would prolly have to make his own account on another computer... |

physcosick is right on this one.
I have asked cobra about it in the past regarding SOP and Me.
The reason your friends account can’t give you GP if because your and his account share the same IP address from your computer. Cobra’s system prevents accounts created on a computer with the same IP address to donate GP to each other.
The strategy article voting problem is not related to the IP address.
That is a problem with your web browser. Sometimes I cannot vote on articles either but I usually can.
So try using another computer for voting, but your friend will have to get a new account to award you GP and vice-versa. |
