Okay, this is a slightly spammy post, but I decided that I might as well recruit on CobraCards for this!
Anyhow...I’m making a CCG online, and I need some people to playtest for me! Just go to this page to download Lackey (the program I’m using to make the CCG) and then go to this page to download the plugin. Unzip the plugin to your "plugins" folder, and you’ll be ready to play!
Report to this thread if you have any questions or anything. Or if you want to report play results, etc. |

To unzip files, right-click it and choose "extract".
Now, you don’t need to unzip the plugin or download it. Just simply go into Lackey, click on Preferences, and enter "http://lackeyccg.com/realmsatwar/UpdateList.txt" into the UpdateList field. That gets you the plugin much quicker and easier.
NBarden, I’ll have another look at the rules...I’ll try and boil it down. I may have gone overboard on explanation.
Basically, it’s a combat game. Two armies. The way that you decide battles is by rolling an eight-sided die. It works basically like Axis and Allies’ dice system. If you roll lower than an army’s strength, that army successfully hits the attacker.
There’s also a bit of the "Resistance" flavor to this game, since every time an army is hit, its attack goes down.
It shouldn’t be hard for an LOTR player to pick up...gameplay is very similar in some ways.

First, start Lackey. Then, use the UpdateList URL for the Preferences tab to get the plugin in there. Then, click on Preferences, and set the plugin to Realmsatwar, if it’s not already on that. Now you should be able to play Realms At War on Lackey.
To play a game, click on the Server tab, and check out your options. You can either use the Lackey server, or you can connect to someone else by using their IP.
Typically, what you’d do is find someone else with the plugin in a Messaging program (like AIM, which is what most of the players use), and then contact them.
You can also just play around with the cards in solitaire mode.
Note: there’s no images for the cards as of yet, so you have to enable text pop-ups for the cards to see what they are. To do this, click the "Text" checkbox underneath the "Realms At War" picture. |

Windows comes with an unzipper. Just right-click, select "Extract All"
But you don’t need to download the zipfile any more. Just go to the website, and use the UpdateList URL at the top of the page. Enter it into the UpdateList part of the Preferences tab. |
