It’s a long shot, but did you ever know someone called Kaleb Michaud?

Well, I like to call myself a veteran of the game, but it’s been an up-down relationship. I used to post on the site a lot, when my good friend AC told me about it (I had previously bought cards from a different site, hah). I was on pretty regularly for a while and back in the good old days (before I was on the site) we had a "Lord of the Rings Club" in my hometown when more of my friends were into the game. Then AC’s family (which composed like a third of the club, haha) moved and things faded eventually and most of the guys stopped playing, either it didn’t interest them, they weren’t very good or didn’t want to spend the money.

I still played for a while with one of my good friends and also with AC when I chanced to see him, and then met Elflvr and have played with him several times. I became discouraged when Decipher couldn’t get hunters to come out and lost some interest in the game, plus I became much busier and didn’t have as much time or money for it. I also began my first year of college which ends tomorrow, and didn’t have the time for the site. I have not found anyone here who plays the game, sadly, and my cards have begun to gather dust. I hope to play some with Elflvr and our friend this summer though, and get my hands on some RoS. Maybe there will be some way for me to find a group who plays... I’m trying to think of ways. I was mostly known on here for my strategy articles, which I will be modest on and say that they are not the best ever written but that most people tended to enjoy. I like to think that I am a pretty good strategist at LotR but I would definately say that my friend AC has surpassed me in all regards to the game. Hope to contribute more the the site this summer if I am able (even though I have dial-up from home, haha).

I am 19 years old, my name here comes from the popular nintendo Zelda games, my favorite video game ever being Ocarina of Time. I am studying at Ball State University in Indiana. I am pursuing a degree in Telecommunications, hoping someday to produce and direct movies tv shows or short films. I have a passion for it and like to express myself. I come from a large Catholic family (similiar to AC) and would say that I take my religion seriously.

Politically, I do support the troops, and since I am only informed of the Iraqi war from the media which really can tell us nothing, I cannot say whether I support the war or not. I do think that whatever is trying to be accomplished has not been done, and that things are not going well though. Politically you would probably label me as a conservative, and I generally vote Republican but I don’t really consider myself aligned with a party. I vote according to my values and beliefs and opinions, nothing more.

Musically I like rock, classical, and a little of other things. I’m not into rap or some forms of hip-hop. I find a lot of ’popular’ artists distasteful and very devoid of talent. I also prefer profanity out of lyrics. My favorite music is probably Switchfoot, the Goo Goo Dolls, anything from John Williams, Linkin Park, Nickel Creek, and several others. I am very into a band called "The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus" right now. They are a new band but pretty good.

I am a kind person, and try to treat everyone as I would like to be treated. I have very excellent friends and family. I hope to be a lifeguard this summer, I am also an Eagle Scout and a HUGE soccer fan, as are many other members from what I have read! I like the U.S. team best, even though I know we are far from being as good as many of the other teams, but I like to root for players from my country. After that, my second favorite sport is American Football. I generally like to try new things and have new experiences, but I love the comfort of familiar things and places.

I guess I’ve now said a lot. If you want to know anything else you can ask.

Cheers

I’m from KS, and another conservative Christian (Lutheran denomination) homeschooler.
I’m a compulsive author, and I’m currently about 2/3 through writing my second book in a sci-fi/mythology hybrid trilogy. I have noticed that almost all of the stories I write deal, in some way or another, with the fall of civilization. I’m not sure if that means anything. I’m not an anarchist, whatever Freud might say...

The only people on these forums I know personally are NBarden and NinjaGimli (who is never on here,) and I think I might know Ransom, but I’m not sure.

I’ve been playing LotR ever since Fellowship first came out, but almost exclusively in casual play. I’ve done a few very small sanctioned tournaments, but not much. Our playgroup is spread out over the entire North-Eastern corner of Kansas.

I’m in the NCFCA homeschool debate league, (which is where I know NBarden and NinjaGimli from,) and I’ll be a senior in High School next year.

My tastes in literature and music have been described as odd. For example, my favorite book is Beowulf. I enjoy Medieval Icelandic literature (think Vinlandsagas), Anglo-Saxon lit (think Beowulf) and Norse Myth (think Woden and Thor.) I also like Timothy Zahn and Jeff Shaara. (And, of course, Tolkien...) There are few books I dislike more than Eregon. Poorly written, and pure plagarism, besides. And I’m not even talking about the Tolkien-influenced elements. But I’m not gonna go on a rant about that. Razz
Musically, I like anything by John Williams (as in the guy who wrote "Star Wars," not the guitar player...), Joel Goldsmith (SG1, Atlantis soundtracks,) and similar stuff, mostly movie/TV soundtracks. I also like Wagner and other "dark classical" (Ride of the Valkyrie, Mars the Bringer of War, etc.)

Earlier DainIronfoot was complaining about his long commute to work... I can top that. I mentioned that I live in Kansas. I work in North Dakota and Minessota for Pioneer Hi-Bred Inc. (an agronomy business.) over the summer.

Oh, yeah. And I dislike most sports, and despise soccer.

That’s all I can think of about myself (at least, that I’m gonna tell you guys) for the moment.
Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true.
