By labeling NB a horrible person you are being extremely insultive. How ironic.

yeah that is kinda funny. PSS did you ever participate in the "lets argue about creation and evolution and no matter what people say if it is bad pounce on it and flame them , if it is good ignore it and if it is really good don’t change your mind anyway?" if so you would a seen merrick_hale. also the first debate when you saying how all homeschoolers were rich and such and how the republicans were all rich? |

I never claimed all republicans were rich, even I know that for a fact is wrong. But I am going to say that a high majority or republicans are either well of financially or rednecks. And I say that having been saying that for years.
Also, same thing with homeschools, I never meant ALL homeschoolers are rich, I just said a large majority of them prolly are well off and as far this site goes for, I’ve never had anyone say otherwise according to the standards of their own being.
And like I said, I don’t remember any of the debates from the past. That was a long time ago.... and I honestly can’t remember deferrences between many of you people... so... the past is useless to me. |

Your posts make you sound like an angry person with an ax to grind. Before you get off to a rousing start of heated arguments, rhetoric and inflammatory (not necessarily bad or incorrect, just inflammatory) statements please make sure to double read your posts and make sure what you say actually contains the content you want to convey in the manner you want to convey it. This goes for all posters on this board, especially those who like to debate.

What do you guys think about Gravel’s stance on giving american citizens power in government? I heard him mention it a few times in speeches but it wasn’t until a friend informed me of it that I understood exactly what he meant. Supposedly his idea is to create a new amendment saying that amateurs (ie not politicians) can run for senate and have a seat in congress but can only have a one year term and then they have to retire...
now don’t quote me on this because my friend has been the source of incorrect info before but i figured i’d mention it here regardless just to get some opinions going.
to me, i think it’s a good idea in a way but at the same time, one year is a short ammount of time and could cause the elections to be clunky. I have no problem with normal people being allowed to be a part of our government, in fact I encourage it... which is why I want gravel in, he’s not a politicians... get less politicians out of government I say... but his plan may need some work. |

That’s your decision. Sorry to make you mad, but it is the truth.
BTW, I never said you were pro-death. I don’t know about you. Gravel is pro-choice, and pro-choice = pro-death. I didn’t attack you, I didn’t say that because you support him you are pro-death.
physcosick wrote: So am i pro-death because I allow other people to live their life?
No. But there are limitations on "living your own life". If I see my brother as an inconvenience, can I kill him? No. I would go to prison. If my mom sees me as a problem, can she kill me? No. She would go to prison.
So, if a mom sees her unborn child as a problem, can she kill it? Logically, no. Legally, yes. If I advocate the right to kill my brother because he’s a pest, then I’m pro-death. If my mom advocates the right to kill me because I’m a problem, then she is pro-death.
Consequently, if Gravel advocates the right to kill an unborn child because he/she is a problem, he is pro-death. That is the fact. I’m not sugar-coating it. I’m blunt. I don’t go through all this politically correct mumbo-jumbo just so I don’t tick anyone off. Sorry that your mad at me, but I stand by my original position. Mike Gravel is pro-death, and if you are "pro-choice" (in the politically correct terminology) you are to.
And because Gravel is pro-death, he will not receive my vote. I don’t care if he levels with me 100% on every other other issue, which he does NOT, I’m still not going to vote for him.

And I’m glad I am!
Oh, on his stance on giving the American People power in government, that’s what elections are for. Pick the people you want, and you’ll get the results you want. Direct democracy doesn’t work. See my comment on direct democracy.
And I realize that you’re "banning" me, but I’m saying this for the benefit of other people who do care a whit about my position. I’m sorry that your experience with the other side of the political spectrum has been so provocative, but hey, you got a radical here, and I don’t apologize for anything I said.
SoP, I’m still thinking through my position on torture. I think you’re right, though.
I don’t want this to turn into a inflammatory flame session, but its going to get there if physcosick keeps insulting me. I’m not attacking you, and if you don’t like it that I ripped Gravel apart, stay away from politics. Cobra, thanks for the profanity filter... |
