Ach weel means oh well. Very Happy They also say ach or och when something goes wrong. Like if they stub a toe or drop something, you’ll hear, "Ach!" Sometimes it’s followed by a "bloody hell" or a sweary word that you would definitely understand.

Dinnae = don’t
Gonnae = going
Flair = floor (it took me a long time to figure that one out)
kin = can
ken = know

Excellent Very Happy If you ever visit Scotland, make sure you bring a good supply of Mountain Dew with you. You wouldn’t want to go into withdrawls on Princes Street (where all of the tourists go shopping). People would think you were a street performer and throw money at you! Very Happy

I find that funny, because in the States, you have to travel many hundreds of miles for an accent change.

Try going from the South to New England. Rolling Eyes

yeah, the anti-anonymous is part of the funny.

i picked up scottish from an great old movie called kiddnapped. it’s about a jackobite and a lowlander running from king george’s men, and it is absolutely wonderful.

"and david balfore did have sons, and they were niether highlander nor lowlander, they were SCOTS!!"

Yeah, that was a good movie.
