The seventh Harry Potter book. I’m a MAJOR fan. I can’t wait to get reading... I hope to get it done by tomorrow night. It’s gonna be extremely sweet.
Anyone else here a Harry Potter fan? Speculation on the book and how it ends? |

by speculation do you mean a prediction? cause if you do, I have one. I think that both harry and vuldemort[sp?] will die. the most I have read from any pook was 1 page of the first in second grade, and i didnt understand it. i could barly read the page...
I have seen the moves though...either both harry and vuldemort will die, or vuldemort will die. I hope they both die. I hate how its always that the bad guy is defeated and everyone lived happiy ever after. I like things where its not always good for the good guys too. |

I’m looking forward to reading the seventh book; I’ve read a few of the others, and they were pretty good.
I don’t think Harry will die, since he already survived that ultra powerful curse, the one that sounds like abra cadabra. |

| Harry Potter is dwarfed by LotR, by I have to admit: the special effects in the fourth movie were cool. |

I’d say the same thing, too. First of all, the HP books are not as well written. And second, its final message is to glorify our fleshly nature. This, of course, is opposite to Tolkien’s books in morals, etc.
I’m not trying to start another argument, which is one of my greatest peeves here... |

They are good books. Not as good as LoTR in description and better story.

i have never read the harry potter books, nor have i seen the movies. i have chosen not to for certain reasons. therefore, i cannot pass judgment upon them. i am not saying that they are of the devil, or evil, or anything like that, as i know some people have. however i’m also not saying they aren’t. i don’t know. i never have nor ever intend on reading any of them. so my judgments would be based on nothing. however, the whole using-witchcraft-for-good doesn’t strike me right.
there was a funny comedian (Brad Stine) who said:
"you know how catholics are always seeing Mary in everything. well, Protestants see, Satan in everything.... nowadays it’s the harry potter books. i was actually at a church when they had a harry potter book-burning. nothing brings people to the doors of a church like a good old fashioned book-burning!!! a good general rule of thumb is, ’if Hitler tried it, maybe go in a different direction’
anyway, i don’t think there is anything inherantly wrong with reading them, and i can’t stand it when people judge them when they haven’t read them. i mean, how would you feel if someone said that LOTR was horrible and had never read it.

Yeah, I wouldn’t advocate it as satanic, but I definitely wouldn’t want to read about witchcraft. I have friends who are good Christians and love Harry Potter, and I don’t have a problem with it. (Okay, some of them are obsessed, and I have a problem with that).
I actually saw the first movie, and on top of the witchcraft, it was completely lame. If you watch it for the special effects, watch The Matrix or Star Wars or something. |
