ok, first, i’d like to apologize to everyone for being an idiot. i’ve been spamming up the boards for a while now, even outside the member’s lounge. so, i’ m sorry, and i’ll try to be more helpful/ less of a pain in the future.
oh, and thanks to whoever has been giving me gp. i appreciate it.
and now for the real purpose of this thread. i want to hear what you all (every member who reads this) think about certain topics. the first one, as indicated by the title of the thread, is food. for each topic i’ll probably post my views/thoughts on the subject, and then listen to what you all have to say. not all of the topics will be as simple/uncontroversial as "food", but we will be staying away from things like: whether hilary should become president or not.
the point of this thread is NOT to start debate, but just to be an avenue to share your thoughts on different subjects. if anyone starts flaming, and can’t handle that someone believes differently about something, then i’m sure we can count on our mod friends to put an end to that.
SO! our fist topic: Food. what are your favorite types of food? your favorite food? the food you hate the most? the weirdest food, anything about food.
mm’s thoughts on food: i’m pretty known for liking pasta on these forums, and while i LOVE pasta, (i happen to be about 1/4 italian, on my mother’s side) it is not my favorite food. i live in a very redneck area near a large bay. my grandfather on my father’s side is as redneck as they come. from this bay-neck culture i have a huge love for blue crabs, with loads of "Old Bay Seasoning" (if you’ve never eaten old bay seasoning, google it, buy some, and eat it, it’s the best seasoning in the world, and most people in the bay-area love it.)
steak is awesome too. well done or medium rare.
so i love crabs. i hate beans and stuff. well, green beans are good. and for some reason, i really don’t like raw tomatoes.
salad is good, broccoli is really good.
as far as fruits go: ORANGES!!! and apples, and white flesh nectarines.
have you ever had a food fight?
that’s all i have for now, but i’ll post more if anything comes to mind. so, what are your thoughts on food?

Eh...wha? That’s what the point is. Oh well, if you wanna be helpful, go review my DCs.

Favorite types of food? Meat. Lamb in particular is good. Although beef, buffalo and venison are good. Medium to medium well, please. Or on a kebab (I love to cook kebabs).
Also McDonald’s French Fries. Oh yeah, and hasbrowns. And latkes, and pretty much anything with potatoes. And pizza.
Fried cheesecake is good, and so is sherbert.
Fresh foods? Grapes, definitely. And then there’s carrots.
Food I hate the most? Sushi. And calimari, caviar, yeah, I’ve eaten them and can’t stand them. Any uncooked meat and seafood is nasty. Also cannot stand tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, and olives.
Weirdest food would probably be blowfish. Although I’ve never eaten it, my dad did once on a trip to Japan. Its a poisonous fish that must be cooked EXACTLY right, or it’ll kill you. Its ultra-expensive, and from what I hear, tastes like a normal fish. Yet its a Japaneese delicacy.
Raw squid tastes like rubber. I’ve tasted it. Its nasty. I hear (from my dad) that octopus tastes the same. I don’t want to find out.
BTW, sorry to burst your bubble, this isn’t very "helpful" and seems to be...spam. |

octopus IS rubbery. it’s crazy.
and this: "BTW, sorry to burst your bubble, this isn’t very "helpful" and seems to be...spam." just seems really immature at the moment. the thread has a point, it’s in the member’s lounge, and there is nothing wrong with it. |

We’re doing a big nutrition thing in health class so I can’t look at McDonald’s food without thinking about cheap beef deep fried in vats of fat. Just the thought makes my arteries clog.
Although I can still somehow stomach Pizza Hut Pizza.
Never had a food fight.
I’m 50% Polish (my dad’s full Polish) but I don’t like polish food. It includes a lot of cabbage rolls. I’m not so keen on cabbage, and have no idea why anyone would want to roll it. |

Yeah, cabbage rolls, yuck! When I was in the Air Force, there was a guy in my squadron who ate Polish food, loved kielbasas (I think that’s how you spell it). And he reeked of it all of the time! Bleah
I love Chinese food, sweet and sour chicken, Kung Po, deep fried shredded beef in chilli and garlic sauce...oh, I’m getting hungry now. And you can’t forget about the spring rolls and prawn crackers!
The British are big on Indian food, and since I’ve come here, I’ve become a fan of it too. I love chicken bhuna with garlic naan bread. Balti is good too.
For dessert, cake or ice cream is always good. I’ve been told that I must have a second stomach reserves for dessert because no matter how full I am from my meal, I always have room for something sweet.
Now I need to go and make some lunch. Thinking about all of this food has really made me hungry! |

How could I forget about pizza! Glorious pizza, but it has to be made correctly. I can’t stand Domino’s pizza. But Pizza Hut does it just right. Well, now I know what the kids and I are going to have for dinner. |
