This is just sick, man...
Forget about it mm, it’s a lost case. If you don’t agree with it, just stay out of it as I do because some members like AP just want to be more than others, they’re not happy with serving the community, they need ranks to feel they’re more important.
Before anyone respond to this message, beware that i’m not carrying on a discussion on this topic and I’m sick of talking about chosen ones and stuff. If someone wants to say something significantly about it to me, PM me. |

i don’t think hierarchy helps this group.
If a person joins Cobra Cards and is an active reviewer, the Chosen Ones would be glad to recruit that person. On the other hand, though, allowing anyone to join would destroy the integrity of the Chosen Ones as a whole.
Hierarchy doesn’t help this group: hierarchy IS this group. Elitism? Yes. But only because the members ARE elite: faithful and diligent in their Chosen Ones duties, and keeping the Cobra Cards forums alive.
Look at the facts: there are 7 Chosen Ones on the active roster, and every single one of them is in the top 11 in total posts. Active. Elite. Hierarchy.
Eh...no?
Um...if this is the REAL motive of the organization we joined, I’m resigning from vice-aftokrator. We are NOT elitist. NOT. I suggest you change your opinion AP.
I agree that the Chosen Ones needs to drop their elitist feeling, but that can be done without the abolition of hierarchy. Seriously, we are no better than anyone else. However, at the same time, a hierarchical system WITHIN the organization, however it may seem to promote elitism, MUST be in place for the organization to operate.
It seems we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. My opinion is that the leadership try to find a way to get rid of the elitism without compromising the effectiveness of the organization.
BTW, recruit is the wrong word. We do not "recruit." People apply and we accept or deny them. I believe that we have only refused one person during the entire existence of the organization, namely, TH13 (for obvious reasons). There IS a standard for joining the organization, though. |

A poor choice of words on my part. Not "Elite," as an in "We are better than everyone else," but "Elite" as in "We are a group of dedicated members who are generally more active than the rest of the Cobra Cards community." And the hierarchy within must be maintained. Again, I AM NOT saying that we are better than everyone else; I am saying that the members of the Chosen Ones, a whole, are more active on this site than the rest of the general population.
My apologies to the Chosen Ones and the rest of the community for a poor choice of words. |

I will be watching this debate with great interest.
Personally, I think you are all taking this WAY too seriously... |

Okay, well, if you think the existance of the Chosen Ones is stopping new members coming in and thusly killing this site, then I care.
Beyond that, I don’t know if I’ve seen a ton of anti-chosen ones sentiments around here, and if there is, then I’d be glad to be rid of it, because really, one line in my signature for a group on a trading card game website isn’t all that important. It matters more to me how people see me. You know?
Like LK said, I’m kinda sick of hearing about this. Unless it’s somehow stopping the continuance of this site (which I honestly care about, you know) then we shouldn’t waste our time arguing about it.
I don’t know why I’m even bothering to post here, what I say won’t make any difference. There will still be people on both sides arguing about it. Which is why I hated groups to begin with. Caused a little to much strife.
Let’s put it this way: If this group either stops new members coming, or causes so much arguement that the entire board is consumed by it, well, we’re just killing this site and ought to be done with the group altogether.
We can be active reviewers and nice people without being called Chosen Ones. The name doesn’t make the people, the people make the name, yknow? |

ok, i’m finished. i have heard people on both sides, and i am officially disconnecting my ties with The Chosen Ones. i will still do my best to actively review and critique DCs and stuff on the forum, but i will not stand with a group that is causing devision among Cobracards.
EL, i remember what you said during controversy of other member groups, and i think highly of you for it. if anyone wants to discuss anything about this with me, feel free to PM me.

I was away for all this, but I’d just like to say that I don’t care much for the Chosen Ones - my rank or even being a member or not will not change my reviewing habits.
If we really are causing such dissent and disunity and promoting elitism and discouraging new members, then I am for dismantling it.

thats what I think too...being part of it, aside from the very beginning when you couldn’t review everything, hasn’t changed how I review.
mm if u r serious about leaving, resign from the actual group think under groups. |

I agree with all that. Either way, what the hell does it matter. Meh i could be drawn into this "non-issue" far too easily. Ill leave it as; everyone stop making a fuss.
Seeing as i echo what Thran says, that i will review anyway regardless of my grouping, i will be bowing out to avoid any contention.
I just want to use the site and review and post without people constantly whining or arguing.
