This is revolutionary.
I don’t know how this works. The article is so short. |

Popcorn is not gooey like fat, and also not crunchy like potato chips, but crispy like lettuce which makes it a healthy snack. |

Well, they wouldn’t expect the average bloke living on the internet to know all the techno-speak on how it works, anyway.
This could be propaganda.
Like the South (north?) koreans with their nuclear program, telling the whole world how powerful their military is.
Well this invisible tank stuff is really cool. I wonder if the U.S. is developing something like this? |

North Koreans.
People have been talking about technology like this for forever. As far as I know, the Brits are the only ones to make it work.
From what understand, its a camera and projection system. the cameras film the background to one side of the tank and then project it onto the other side, and the same with the other side, so you’re really looking at video projections of the other side of the tank. Meaning that its really more of a camo then making it invisible.
I think the US Marines may have done something like this in wearable camo, but I’m not sure. |

Add the popcorn smiley to your sig, help it achieve world domination.
What if the hokey pokey really IS what its all about?
As I lay in bed staring at the stars last night, I thought to myself, "where the heck is the ceiling?"

The US and Britain are currently working together on a project for an actual Cloaking Device (as opposed to this camera/projector thing.)
I’m guessing that’s what this comment: "But he [the MoD scientist-guy] added: "The next stage is to make the tank invisible without them [the cameras and projectors] - which is intricate and complicated, but possible.""
Basically, the cloak works with stuff called metamaterials which can bend light, blah, blah, blah. There were a few articles about recent breakthroughs in the news a while back. They’ve actually got the thing to work, but only in prototypes, and they can only cloak a limited range of colors.
BTW, the picture’s doctored. The caption says (emphasis mine)
"Now you see it: How the tank might look with background images beamed onto the side"
Look at the shadow. It’s not dark enough for that lighting, and a projectors/camera system wouldn’t hide the shadow. |
| Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true. |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |
