If X to the ∞ (infinity) power = ∞, and 0 to the Y power = 0 (DOMAIN: X=All Real Numbers, Y=All real Numbers), then does 0 to the ∞ power simultaneously equal 0 and infinity, in which case, are zero and infinity equal?
25 = 25 (fundamental duh)
25 = (-1)(-1)(25) (negative of a negative is a positive)
SQRT 25 = SQRT [(-1)(-1)(25)] (what you do to one side, you can do to the other)
SQRT 25 = SQRT (-1) * SQRT (-1) * SQRT (25) (splitting apart square roots is legal if number is in multiplicative form)
5 = i * i * 5 (SQRT of -1 = i)
5 = i^2 * 5 (i * i = I squared)
5 = -5 (i^2 = -1)
1=-1 (divide both sides by 5)
If infinity = 0, then -2 = infinity minus 2. All operations on infinity result in infinity, thus, -2 = infinity. Taking it a step further, we can deduce that all real numbers equal infinity by the same logic, and thus all real numbers equal infinity. Taking it one more step, if all real numbers equal infinity, and any operations on infinity equal infinity, then the square root of a negative equals infinity, and thus EVERY SINGLE NUMBER IN THE UNIVERSE equals infinity and 0, and thus all numbers are equal to each other. |

There has to be a mistake there somewhere. Geez. That is twisted. |

Infinity is not a number, so you can’t do math with infinity. Thus #1 and #3 make no sense.
Regarding #2, the closest I could find...

If Australia is on the other side of the world (from us US peoples), that means they’re in tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes.
Australia does not exist yet. And the point when it does exist will never come.
Australia is a work of fiction. |

But does that mean that to Australians, America does not exist?
Quick, let’s all move to Japan and make France disappear. |

| Infinity isn’t a normal number, because it’s undefined, and Zero screws around with the rules of math. ie, can’t divide by 0. |

Asymptotes deal with 0 and infinity, actually, that’s ALL they deal with.
Math deals a LOT with 0 and infinity.
Infinity is infinity. You deal with it all the time. It may be undefined, but there are some rules for infinity, namely, an operation on infinity = infinity and X^infinity = infinity. |

It doesn’t have to be a number for you to deal with it in math. While 0 is a number, ∞ is not...because a number is like a specific point. A number has a value. ∞ does not have a value.
Because it’s undefined, all the normal rules don’t apply to it. That’s what I meant when I said "you can’t do math with infinity". The rules you mentioned are pretty much the only allowable ones. |
