| Ok y’all! I know and I believe christmas isn’t about food, but he, I could think of worse side-effects! I have at one day my parents in law visiting me, and an other day 4 or 6 friends are coming over. I have to serve dinner, which I absolutely love to do...but I’d like to hear some (original) ideas about what to eat and how to prepare it...suggestions anyone? |

Dirt. Serve dirt.
It really does taste good.
If you get snow, try REAL snow cones. Go outside, scoop up a ton of snow, and then pour various flavorings over it, like some sort of syrup for your typical snow-cones or something. Just make sure the snow is white, not yellow. And than you don’t get any grass or dirt with it. Melts fast though, so you might not want to scoop it until people are ready, or maybe you can store it outside or in the fridge.
Um...kebabs are good. Might try that as an appetizer. Fairly simple, just grill lamb, pineapple, peppers, onions, and kebab potatoes, pour teriyaki sauce on them, and sprinkle with crushed red pepper. Yum. You can probably cook them some different way than grilling. |

What if the hokey pokey really IS what its all about?
As I lay in bed staring at the stars last night, I thought to myself, "where the heck is the ceiling?"

Hmm, dirt..well I have plenty of dirt, not sure what you mean there. Snow is a problem, seems not to exsist in Holland.
And man, kebab with teriyaki sauce? You’re a man of the world, aren’t you. That’s like potatoes with bolognesse sauce (which probably is good to eat)
Sorry I’d like something more distinguished.....
So please continue....[/b] |

Christmas dinner usually consists of...
Ham and / or turkey
Mashed potatoes with gravy
Green beans
Hot rolls
Sweet tea
And probably a couple more vegetables. |

| Along with what AP mentioned try sweet potatoes, stuffing, a pumpkin or apple pie and perhaps some sort of festive fruit punch. |

| There’s some sorta jello stuff that you can make with orange sherbet and orange jello that’s incredibly good as a side dish.... Like fluffy jello/whipped cream stuff. |

Carpachio: very thin cut beef, along with salade and a nice dressing
Roasted lamb
Collared Beef with sprouts and mushrooms
roasted potatoes with garlic, rosemary and seasalt
mashed potatoes
and now I have to think about desert..... |

When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.
