My brother's girlfriend called me 'accidentally' over an hour ago. She's been talking nonstop about - whatever - this entire time and I've just put the phone down on the table. She hasn't stopped or even asked where I went.

Easy solution. I'll give you five:

1. Hey, I'm getting another call...I've got to go.
2. Hey, listen, I don't want to give anything away, but I think my brother is going to propose to you. But I didn't tell you.
3. Sshhhhhhhhhhh! Shhhhhhhh! That's wie...I th...we're breakin...up...
4. Hey, listen, I'm busy right now. I'll talk to you later. [EDIT: Keep it "G" rated. -Kralik]
5. Hey, I've got to run.

Just interject. Then say you have to go. The best part is, even though you are blatantly lying and you are basically saying "I don't care what you have to say," that's not how she will see it.

Oh. Sweet. My phone just decided to hang up on her.

Of course, you could just say, "I don't care what you have to say," and that's still not how she will see it. I'm glad your phone did your work for you.
