Seem to have struck a chord on this one, haven't I (excuse the pun).

As far as I can interpret your argument, you are saying that more is better. I, however, would suggest just the opposite. Sure, Joe Satriani can play fast. He can play a lot of notes. But it everything he plays is meaningless dribble. He and Yngwie Malmsteen have competitions to see who can play more notes faster and that's not music. That's just sounds.

Let's not forget that Linkin Park takes the same four chord shapes and throws more sounds on top of it. Their two most popular songs (as far as I'm concerned), "In the End" and "Numb" are four cycled chords with sounds thrown on top. Furthermore, I can't understand why putting a "DJ and a rapper" into a "'usual' rock band" is enough for you to think a band is great. Your opening post is so pretentiously anti-hip-hop but you add a crappy mixer into a nu-metal band and it's like electronic Jesus to you. It boggles my mind.

I don't see how listing the members of the band makes it any more impressive. In fact, I am going to stick to my original assessment that Linkin Park is a group of #$&*@! who need to stop complaining about high school and grow up. They're #$&*@! millionaires; they don't need to #$&*@! and moan that the popular girls in high school didn't like them and that they got wedgies and whatnot.

Please don't apologize. You haven't offended me in the least. This is the kind of thing that makes me reflect on walking past every "Hot Topic" store in the mall and think, "People like this?" I guess all that I'm saying is that seems like Central Europe is the only region that gets excited for Linkin Park anymore.
