Go ahead, but everyone else should beware of your extreme movie block bias.
I think most people know this by now.
I was actually going to discuss the transition from CobraCards to this site, but I was hoping someone who was there for CobraCards as a member as opposed to a sometimes-purchaser-who-didn't-get-involved-in-the-community-back-then would want to talk about the transition.
So I'll let Kralik do it

here.
Basically with the game, set 8/9 was the start of the end to me. Reflections was a complete spur-of-the-moment set to generate more sales and was released the same week as Siege of Gondor The cards in this set started the more extreme shift in power level (most Reflections cards,
Blood Runs Chill, Corsairs,
Catapult,
Fourth Level, etc.) and that continued into set 10.
The game pretty much hit the "reset" button for set 11 by creating new powerful combinations and largely ostracizing the former playing base. Heije explained it pretty well, but a few other problems were the removal of foil subsets and overproduction of cards for sets 11-13 which drove down the values (a lot of those boxes are ~$10 from reputable stores).
For Lurtzy, and everyone else, I will reiterate that I think you would be better off sticking to Movie Block, Fellowship Block, or Towers Standard (1-6). To be honest, my favorite block would be sets 1-7. Maybe if we had a PC they could make this dream a reality!
