Okay! I've toyed with a few quick methods of organizing things methodically, and what I'm currently going with is
this google sheet. The goal of said google sheet is to categorize the images of the films in such a way as to sidestep the decisions made in the editing room - primarily the inter-cutting of scenes which always proves to be such a bother when trying to conceptualize time in a film.
So now anybody can work any section they want to, and when it's finished the whole thing will be sortable by film, scene, and sequence.
Then we can "alphabetize" each sequence, as it were.
Contributor Notes:- For the time being use Scene NAMES instead of Scene NUMBERS, since these values are going to change as the work progresses. Once all the data is input the Names will be replaced with Numbers
- When creating a Sequence Name, as long as the sequence has a unique name anything descriptive goes. The length of a sequence is entirely arbitrary - you'll notice I've chosen to "break up" The Council of Elrond scene into "Everybody's Sitting", "Everybody's Standing", and "Everybody's Questing" sequences.
- Notate which chunks you've worked on, either as datator or editor
