You do the multiplication first on the left side (the -2(2)) before the addition.

 5=1 meant that out of five cops 1 was going to die. 1 also meant that the cop to die was the first cop to join.
 So Lurtzy protected the right person.

 The next to die will be the last to join.

The last to join the forum is AMFSOOK (at this point in time), but it could be Mr. Lurtzy (joining the cops) though I think that would be too obvious.

CCCORNIV was not obvious at all as most of the letters were not capitalised, or anything else,  to give us any sort a hint.  Very tough.

Also, the letters were scrambled, they weren't even in order, or anything. Pretty lame. And since I'm accused of being the killer every single time, I like it when the game is cool.
