The economy is partially Bush's fault. But it is mainly the fault of the liberals who have been in control of Congress for two years now.

And our reputation comes from the fact that our media has a very liberal slant. Why else would Bush's $40 million 2004 inauguration (in a good economy, no less) be called wasteful by the liberals, when on the other side of the coin Obama's $170 million inauguration (in a recession) is called necessary for the event and the protection of the man, etc.

There is also the fact that there has not been another terrorist attack on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001. I'm not saying that Bush is a great President; he could've done better. But he did a far better job than the liberal media (and the rest of the world) gives him credit for.

And due to the media, if Obama pulls us out of this economic downward spiral, then he will be praised even more than he already is as a great leader and such. If he fails, however, then the further ruin and turmoil of our economy and nation will be blamed on the Bush administration and his bad decisions.

I recall hearing about SOME Columbine-like incidents these last years, although I might be mistaken and they could've happened much earlier than I think. Anyway, I count stuff like THIS as "terrorist" attacks, as much as 09.11.

certainly interesting thoughts all.  Bush was a bad president, a good man, but a bad president.  Certainly he had difficult times, and perhaps he could've done better if the media had not seemingly been against him...

Maybe History will redeem him.

It is true that he has largely kept the people safe from terrorism but at what cost? As Obama said in his speech today Bush and his administration were far too quick to sacrifice the ideals and freedoms that make America great in the name of Safety. Yes the World view of America and Bush has been affected by the media but it has also been effected by the condoning of torture, Guantanamo Bay, the Patriot Act, The Iraq War and the pig headed and selfish response to Global warming which most find abbhorant. You have lost the worlds respect largely because you have forsaken your principals in the name of comfort and security.

Yeah, there was the Virginia Tech shooting (about an hour and a half from my house, incidentally). I wouldn't define that as a terrorist attack, though. Cho was a basketcase who wanted to pay back the rich white kids who had supposedly mistreated him; terrorists are just guys who want to kill Americans (namely Christians). There's a difference in motive, and a difference in location. Terrorists aim for well-known public buildings and monuments. Psycho teens aim for schools.

I'd just go and say there's a difference in AGE between them. :P If those psychos lived to see old age, and learned to PLAN stuff better, they'd most likely go for the town mall or anything like that. There was actually a guy here in Brazil a while back that went for a movie theater inside a big mall in São Paulo, with a submachine gun or whatever. Can't recall the exact details.

Hey! BTW, I'll have the official test answers later tonight, but it seems I passed the first part of the bar, so if everything goes well, in 1-2 months you'll ACTUALLY be able to light the torches and get the pitchforks, you'll have a lawyer among you!
