Forum Shops

Ok, so, let's try and get a discussion on how to implement the Forum Shops here, shall we? Of course, I'll let Kralik and Dáin know in advance we'll be just throwing ideas out there, so let us know if any of them is not possible to do so we won't develop on that thread of ideas. So, what would you guys like to see there?
PS: I know this should be in the CoC (seriously, another name for that?), but I think we first need to get a basis stabilized, I think we should put in discussion there AFTER it's implemented. For instance, if we decide to limit sig banners as an expensive commodity, people might complain, so it's better if we discuss it here first.

Well...there's always titles. I mean, personal text is cool, but TWO titles is always awesome.

For 50 gold, a mod can pick your title, for 100 gold, you can pick your title. That would be cool.

That's one item I'm not buying.

But I bet a lot of people would. When you can just use, like, 5 smileys and then you get a package with 30-some more, it GETS attractive. For instance, popcorn would be as good as gone from your sig.

Well, there's always the bother of having to go find all these smileys for [img] tags in the first place. Personally, I would rather pay a few gold and get a few smileys added to my clicker-thing than have to hunt down the ones I want.

Oooooook, already scouted the Forums and FINALLY I have a bit of free time on my hands, so, time to try and help out for the making of a great Forum!
As I said before, all these are just dieas I'm throwing out there, so the Admins are more than welcome to axe any of those if they're no doable, and to modify them as necessary to MAKE them doable, and of course, I want the rest of you guys to tell me what you think.
Notice that some of these ideas would mean we'd have to cut EXISTING benefits, but since it's all in good fun and to stimulate the use of the gp system more often, I think it wouldn't hurt to try them out. Also, some stuff have the potential to backfire, so we could put astronomical prices on those, of course. Then, I have a lot of ideas to different kinds of users, some stuff would be useful to moderators, some to spammers, etc.
So, some ideas of items that could be made into purchaseable ones:

- Avatar
- Signature
- Bigger Avatar
- Bigger Signature
- Colored Signature
- Signature links
- Signature Banners
- Bigger Signature Banners
- Read-only access to the White Council (yes, this could backfire, but I think it wouldn't do much harm)
- Cut the time needed to award GP
- A bigger smiley selection (we would "shrink" the basic selection, of course, to stimulate interaction witht he gp system)
- Posting outside images (even for making your own smileys)
- Bigger PM box (we'd make the existing ones a bit smaller)
- Allow for bigger posts (we'd lower the character limit a bit)
- "Buy" a Sticky for a thread for a short period of time (this could ALSO backfire, but I think it has the potential to be fun)
- Something to allow you to know what other people have purchased
- Different Forum layouts (we'd limit people to the basic one for starters)
- Expanded package of different Forum Layouts
- Something that GIVES you gp on a daily basis (even if just 1 per day, would be fun for people that don't post a lot of DC's or discuss strategy)
- Something that gives you gp for longer posts (of course, we already discussed that about making longer posts with "..." and such, so the system would have to be rigged so that if we moderate a post to cut it short, they lose the gp they gained)
- "Stalk" function (so spammers can keep track of posts made by "adversaries" and mods can keep track of users)
- Different-colored posts (of course, that means limiting the posting to black for now)
- Adult Lounge -> old idea, we'd "sell" access to a hidden Forum, LIMITED for users above legal age (can backfire BIG TIME, but can be cool)
- "Ignore" function for PMs (ignore PMs from certain users, could be sold as a one-shot item or a feature)
- "Ignore" posts (same)
- Something that gives you the option to load a page WITHOUT the avatars, banners, pics posted, etc (really nice for those with slower connections, for instance)
- Different Titles (from a list we'd create)
- Custom Title
- "Hidden" logged-in status
- Small medals and badges to display on the profile
- Different-colored stars
- Change your stars for something else (like sop's pennywise clowns)
- "Pickpocket" function
- A guard function against pickpocket
- A function to block people from seeing what you have bought
- Read-only access to the Barrow-Downs
- Your country's flag displayed on your profile, perhaps even below your avatar

These are the ideas I find most promising, though I have no idea off-hand how many we could implement. The bolded ones are the sort of ideas I already had in mind, personally.

I'm sure it's possible... but I don't know if the shop mod available can do it all. I would probably have to program a lot of those by hand. And with my wife due in about a week or so, I might be disappearing here soon...!

Same here, as I said, just wanted to get these ideas posted while I had some spare time, we don't have to implement them at all, so of course there's no hurry in doing so. C'mon, guys, chip in, I'm sure some of you also have wacky ideas that'd be cool!

you've covered all mine...aside from bribing mods to delete posts and all
