Unrelated to the Card Game, but a question...

Why is Boba Fett so popular? What is your reason (I have yet to meet someone who thinks he sucks).

Fair points, Chang. I just think it is hilarious that he has become such a pop culture icon. In one of Lucas' greatest interviews, he mentions, "If I had known [Fett] would be so big, I would've made his fake death more dramatic!"

Personally, I loved the death scene and really wish they just left him dead. Of course, since I haven't read any of the alternate media and have only seen movies 4, 5, and 6 (I saw 1 and 2 but shortly after had a probe erase my memory), I just assume he's actually dead.

Anyways, I think it is the mystery of the character that made him so popular. It is a shame the prequel trilogy had to ruin that whole thing.

I always liked Star Wars - until I have seen the first two episodes. Afterwards I was so disappointed. I decided to skip the third one.

Here is my biggest deal with the new three movies. I don't really care that they don't have good plots, or that they are just a money-making scheme by running a ton of special effects. My biggest issue is how they explain the force.

I went on a pretty big rant about this in another topic, but the fact that they made the force bacteria in your blood stream ruined the idea of this zen-new-agey thing that was created in episodes 4, 5, and 6. The force was unexplainable in the "original" trilogy, but in the prequel trilogy, they tried to explain it and it ruined the franchise for me.

I always liked Star Wars - until I have seen the first two episodes. Afterwards I was so disappointed. I decided to skip the third one.

I never saw the third one either. I might have cried.

Oh yeah, small point, but George Lucas originally planned in the prequel trilogy to make Boba Fett Darth Vader's brother.

I too, think it was the mystery surrounding Boba Fett that made him so popular.  He was the only bounty hunter addressed directly by Darth Vader, "No disintegrations" That statement alone conjured up images of a no-holds bounty hunter.

I really wish there was a sarcasm font and if there was, I was hoping you would've used it right there. Jango sucks.

Well, simply put, because Boba Fett is not his own character. He is a clone of another character, and every single Storm Trooper is a clone of that same character. Lucas thought, "well, since Boba Fett is so popular, let me create a character to be just as popular and explain Fett's background." Doing this gave Boba Fett a face (which takes away from his mystery) and raises even more questions like, "If Jango Fett is so great, why do the Stormtroopers all suck in combat?"

I could go deeper, but it's really not important.
