Worst Trade You Have Ever Made

This probably didn't warrant being in Esgaroth Marketplace. But I saw wk's topic in the Magic Boards and thought, "Let's make this universal."

I've collected sports cards, trading card games, autographs, and music throughout my life, so I've made many trades.

Anyways, the worst trade I ever made in the Lord of the Rings card game was right around when the game came out. I traded a Hate and Orc Bowmen for Gimli, Son of Gloin and Gimli's Helm.

But the worst trade I think I ever made was a pair of Rockport casual shoes (they have not been made for years, but were similar to this) for a pea coat. It was a nice pea coat, but it was just a little too small to make it comfortably wear-able on a regular basis.

On the flip side, my best trade ever was when a friend needed me to cover his shift at a pizza place I worked at in college. He was desperate, so I fleeced him. I got two cases of Straub's and an Andre the Giant tee-shirt from the early 1980s. Sweet.

Edit: Back to the shoes for a pea coat trade, I also threw in a Soccer Jacket in, and received a ball cap. I neglected to mention this.

i can't remember any of my bad trades, but i remeber a trade between my two friends.

take note that this trade was been made when we buyed our first boosters and starters form FOTR, ,and we didn't have a clue what C, U, R means or how should we play the game hehe

the trade was Intimidate (1C76) for •Aragorn's Bow (1R90) ehehe

Intimidate (1C76) was then such a COOL card becasuse its lore hehe "'Go back to the Shadow!'"

and you know looking at aragorn's bow you're all like "why on earth would i want to exert him when he gives out a wound anyways" and with intimidate you're all like "yes, now i can't be killed!"

It's not as bad as Aragorn's Bow for Intimidate, but I remember trading my Aragorn's Bow for Bow of the Galadhrim during the FotR block days. I thought it was fair, a rare bow for a rare bow, why not?

I haven't had any bad trades for LotR (only good steals, on my part...I've never had many people near me that play, and no one with as many cards as me (which isn't saying much)), but my worst ever was in the Pokemon TCG, way back in middle school...I traded a rare Mewtwo (and wasn't it rare) for an uncommon Primape (which was worth dirt).  Naturally, I did it for the look of the card, and figured I could get mewtwo easily again.  Such naivity.

This isn't a real trade, but my brother haggled some lady down at an estate sale for a collection of Sargeant Fury comics. Some of Stan Lee/Jack Kirby's earliest works, he bought the whole collection of about 80 comics for $34.50.

There is one issue in there worth $3200 and the cheapest one is $65.

Nothing major I can think of. For some amusement, early ST1E sets didn't contain rarity information on the cards, so my brother and I were wondering whether the all-important Federation Outpost for a cool-looking Rogue Borg Mercenaries was a fair trade. This ended up being a common vs. an uncommon... but I totally should've nabbed that RBM.

Mewtwo was in the first edition starter, but was still worth about 7$ or 8$ anyway.
