1x 12U41 Treacherous Little Toad

Sites
(0) 11U227 Anduin Banks
(0) 11S230 Buckland Homestead
[1] 11S249 Neekerbreekers' Bog
[1] 18U134 Doorway to Doom
[1] 18U139 Steward's Tomb
[2] 11S231 Caras Galadhon
[2] 18U136 Mithlond
[2] 11U246 Mere of Dead Faces
[3] 11U235 Dammed Gate-stream

Bid [1], start, play damned gate-stream dammed gate-stream, grab something to play your site two.
Walk with Smeagol, you should be able to control the site path pretty well, use led astray to replay caras galadhon if needed.

Shadow is built for region one Ringbearer kill. The major counter for this shadow is the Ring of Rings. If you don't get the kill in region one use horribly strong, little snuffler to kill their best companion, although after region one there is not much finishing power.

It's mine and Not Easily Avoided are great. Use them to either grab more little snuffler early or to grab stuff to help smeagol later on.

Can majorly choke your opponent with both freeps and shadow.

It's more of a fun deck than a competitive deck although has won games. Give it try.

it's dammed gate-stream, a damned gate stream is something a little different

Looks fun! And it's only 30 cards! Have you playtested it? If so, please tell us your findings. :)

Also, why is Pippin in the deck? If he's in your start fellowship he won't be able to help heal or remove burdens. O_o

A wizard is never late...nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

Doesn't Pippin have the ability to remove a burden off the bid? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Have you playtested it?

Also, why is Pippin in the deck?

I have played this deck alot of times. It probably has lost more times than won (maybe around 30-40% success over fifty or so games). Most of the time wins will come from shadow kill, but Smeagol has survived and won at site nine a few times aswell.
If facing The Ring of Rings, it is hard to win with the shadow. If facing archery it is nearly impossible to survive region three with Smeagol (even though twilight output is usually only around [7] or [8] for region three sites).

Pippin can remove bid burdens (bid [1], start first and play Dammed Gate-Stream).

Maybe if you just started with Faramir or some other Ringbound companions? That would remove the choke aspect, but I find solo Smeagol simply has a hard time winning because he can't beat minions in strength....:O

There are no Ringbound Faramirs in Standard.

Smeagol actually does win most of skirmishes. Region one twilight output is usually [1] - [3] per site, region two is usually [4] - [5] and region three is usually [7] - [8].

Naked Waste & Nasty let Smeagol win and put tokens on Nice Fish.

But what do you do hwn facing areal monster like Demon of might at, let's say, Cavern Entrance? or even not cavern entrance, it's still nearly impossible to win if you don't have Cannonfodder...

You need to play this deck and see how strong it can be. If played properly there simply is not enough twlight for your opponent to play anything big enough to do any real damage, Smeagol can kill (and has) a Demon of Might if he's forced to. :P

The whole idea of the deck is to manipulate your sites with Smeagol so Cavern Entrance shouldn't be a problem.

In my original post I do state this is more of a fun deck than a competitive deck. It does work though.

Ok, it's a fun Deck, but I just wanted to piont that if you're opponent drops Gollum, led astray one or two times and whooop! he's got enough twilight to play Demon of Might on Cavern Entrance.

This deck is pretty good, I must admit.

The choke aspect of it looks good in theory, but I was able to corrupt Smeagol with Twilight Nazgul (not cheap) at site 6.  Before anyone says "Twilight Nazgul are banned in standard", let me say we were just playing for fun.

That said, I think a good ringbound comp would be good in this deck, as the choke is sort of sketchy anyways.

Frodo, Frenzied Fighter might work great.
Do not take dragons lightly.  They are heavier than you think.

just let smeagol be a bit weak (max. strength 6). now the demon of might cannot be assigned. ;) and playing your own sites as freepeoples player won't you give the chance to play an underground site as shadow player. only nelya (site switcher) would help.

and don't forget: every deck in LotR has it's advantages/disadvatages, there's no "perfect deck".

i'd add some Never to boost clever hobbits and Nasty.

And then the Shadow player assigns him to skirmish Smeagol and overwhlems! I think you ,issunderstood the whole Balrog story: When there's "(...) cannot be assigned (...)" on the card, this means that the Free People player cannot assign this character to skirmish.

playing your own sites as freepeoples player won't you give the chance to play an underground site as shadow player. only nelya (site switcher) would help.

or, as I said before, Led astray, when it was your site played before...
