Gimli's Helm

If there are seven threats in play and a companion dies while gimli is bearing gimli's helm and you use gimli's helm (discard it) in the skirmish in which the companion dies... Can you you use the helm's text to prevent all seven threat wounds from being placed on other companions (Gimli takes them all but no tokens are placed)...?
 

I think not. I think that the helm would only prevent Gimli from taking wounds, which would mean any other remaining alive companions would have to take the seven threat wounds if the helm is used..?

Gimli can soak up the wounds.

If a character cannot take wounds, wounds cannot be assigned to that character. However, if a card prevents wounds, wounds may still be assigned to that character.
Faramir, Wizard's Pupil reads: "Skirmish: Exert Gandalf to prevent all wounds to Faramir." This prevents wounds as they are assigned to Faramir, not the assignments themselves.

That another card i think that should have an errata to somethign like: discard - wounds cannot be assigned to Gimli.

Same for cards like Promise Keeping. It's almost like: flood with threats, kill a companion and game over. When i play Ninja Gollum i don't respond with exertions for each threat wound that is placed in a companion cause i think that is way too broken.

Good sense appoint to prevent both situations.
