Extra copies of Barliman beats Master of Healing anyday.
Well, Master of Healing can be used to heal companions too, so it doesn't have to rot in hand if you already have a healed Barliman Butterbeer, but just 1 copy of Barliman lowers chances to get him early considerably.
Master of healing will rot in your hand if Elrond or your elf allies don't show up. Barliman will never rot in your hand because at worst you can use his text for no effect and then use the copy in hand to heal him. If healing companions is the goal I can think of better things than
master of healing...
