Discussion #12:

Does Borne Far Away cause threats to trigger?    (previous discussion, previous discussion)

Option 1: (initially favored ruling)
No.

Option 2:
Yes.

#1.  Based on the 'exchange' part and that the 'rule of 9's count isn't altered.

Option 1.

"When game text instructs you to place a character in the dead pile, that character has been killed." As I see it, an "exchange" doesn't count as game text instructing you to "place" the inbound character in the dead pile.

Option 1 ... this one seems simple to me (exchange is different to placing).

Based on previous discussion, sent back might be harder to rule on as it creates some unusual scenarios but it is also probably pretty stragiht forward.
