No more X-list, no more expanded list, a somewhat balance between all cultures. We have the opportuntity to 'revive' some of the older cultures making them playable again. Alot of thought should go into that fact alone. We need to consider all formats though.
For example. An argument could be made that
Savagery to Match Their Numbers could just come off the X-list UNCHANGED and make a difference for the Isengard culture in this new Standard format era, however, Movie Block play would be adversely affected by this. Which now brings up another point, Movie Block should be one of the top priorities too as a significant number of people just play that format. Do we modify cards in the Fellowship and Tower sets NOT ON ANY X / EXPANDED LIST for balance in a standard format? Do we even need to? Or do we leave those alone and just concentrate on the X / expanded listed ones preserving Movie Block?
Does it perhaps even make sense to have a seperate Movie Block errata and Standard Block errata? I doubt it but it's an idea.
Perhaps I am confused and don't fully understand what's going on with this process. Regradless, i'm looking forward to this.
