Five Versions Of: Lightfootedness
« on: December 18, 2010, 08:35:43 am »
It is a common. It is an event. And it is terrible.

I don't have a grand vision on how to make this common filler card much better, but it doesn't take too much effort.

5.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Condition * Support Area
While you can spot 3 Elves, the minion archery total is -1.

4.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Condition
Bearer Must Be an Elf. Shadow conditions may not be played on bearer.

3.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Response
If an Elf companion takes a wound, you may exert that Elf to wound a minion he or she is skirmishing.

2.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Archery
Exert three Elves to discard an archer.

1.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Archery
Heal an Elf.

Some are more powerful than others. My favorite, based on flavor, is actually number four. But 1 would probably be most popular with Legolas, Greenleaf, The Splendor of Their Banners, The White Arrows of Lorien, or Haldir's brothers.

yeah, 5 is my favorite.  4 seems a really strong.  No shadow conditions?  Way cool though!  i must admit, I like the idea behind #3, "If I win the skirmish, you get hurt.  If you win the skirmish, you still get hurt!"

I also like number 4, but with all the condition removal that elves have, I don't think it will be worth a spot in any elven deck.

This version crossed my mind:

(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Condition
Manuever: Discard this condition to make the minion archery total -2.

or as an event:

(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Response
If an [Elven] companion is about to take a wound, prevent it.
Some days you're the statue, and some days you're the pigeon.

Number 1 would certainly see play ... it's like double shot but way more powerful. Might need a cost attached?

4 is the one I prefer the most. It's not too powerful. If anyone says it is, would you really put it in your Elf deck? I feel like it somehow fits well with the title 'lightfootnedness'.

How is Number 1 like Double Shot? The only way that I see it being helpful what I mentioned in the closing paragraph of the post. You couldn't play it after archery wounds were assigned...

Sorry .. not sure i made myself clear.

Heal to get one extra exert on Legolas Greenleaf = one extra wound that you choose to assign. Double shot is one extra wound they choose to assign. The power balance is well in favour of number 1 (hence why I suggested it may need to cost more). Just an opinion .. be it right or wrong.

5.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Condition * Support Area

Not bad. I'm not sure about this counting allies, however.

4.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Condition
Bearer Must Be an Elf. Shadow conditions may not be played on bearer.
I like the concept, but I'm not sold on the gameplay—I just wish it did something as well as sometimes frustrate your opponent.

3.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Response
If an [Elven] companion takes a wound, you may exert that Elf to wound a minion he or she is skirmishing.
Slightly bizarre card. I preferred hrcho's version of this, simply preventing a wound to an [Elven] companion. Also note that you said [Elven] companion first, then "that Elf". They should either both be Elf or both be [Elven] companion.

2.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Archery
Exert three Elves to discard an archer.
Hmmm... I'm not feeling the flavour of this one as much as the others.

1.
(0) Lightfootedness [Elven]
Event * Archery
Heal an Elf.
Nice. But I definitely wouldn't put it in the archery phase because of Greenleaf. Maneuver event would be great.
