Would you help me on an experiment?

Hello everyone,

I am working on a small psychology research project for my university (University of Corunna, http://www.udc.es) . I would need some people to play a small guessing game. It would be sort of a pilot study, the results will then be analyzed to decide if we can do something similar in a bigger scale.

With christmas and all, I am having trouble finding enough people here that are not family or friends, and I need it as soon as possible. So I was wondering if some of you could help me with this.

The process would be: I would attach an executable file (.exe) here. It is a small program that will guide you in playing the guessing game. The program would then create a .txt file, that you can post here or send directly to my email address.

I know each one of us is afraid of .exe files posted by an stranger in a forum, but I do not have the time nor the resources to create a web page for this. So I can only give you my word that it is not a virus or anything... Hope the trading references and ebay references count

The results are completely anonymous. The program just asks for sex, age and occupation, but you can choose not to give them.

Just wondering, would anyone be interested in participating? If so, I will prepare a small set of instructions, translate the program, and post it here.

Eh, I for one wouldn't open a .exe file.  Any other way you're giving the survey?

The problem is that this is not a survey, it is a game, and thus requires to be interactive... It proposes a set of examples that will help you guessing the solution, And as it has several steps, I cannot do it by posting.

I understand your concerns, but I can't think of another way of doing it without having to implement a (complex) web page that would take me several days to code (and money to host). I could always upload the source code, but this would only help computer programmers.

I am open to any suggestions that would make all of you feel more comfortable, though. Believe me, I am the first one that does not like this method.

I'll play along as well. I've always been the one to open strange kinds of things and .exe files, but I still found no viruses. Maybe this one will be my lucky break
