NB, how many games have you played in the last year with SdA? Many GCCG users are in their hundreds (jmc is nearly 2,000!). I cut back at around 400 or so.  :P

What time today (how many hours?) until the server is shutdown?

Consider the server is effectively shutdown. Even if running few more days, no new game will be hosted there.

Haha. Let's give it a week and see what I can manage. I'm having fun with it--my interest in computers trumps my interest in LotR.

Will it be LOTR or GCCG in general.

Planning on just LotR. What other GCCG games are not yet covered?

Update: Got a test server set up and seems to be working.

Great news Kralik. Thank you for your time and work.
If for some reason things go bad, then maybe small donations could work as well.

I had thought to provide the server via my computer but there is no desktop anymore in house since I'm in move all the time.

Update: I've figured out the test server and tried a sample game. Now I'll see if wlk approves and we can try copying the user data over (as well as "beta" test a bit). I'm not sure yet whether we can transition without a client update needed.

Other good news will be that I should be just fine to offer as many tables as needed. Woohoo!

Kralik, PM'ed you.

Good news for everyone: the user database, collections and pending saved games should be restored exactly as left on the old server.

Update: Test server works, but needs an upgrade (more RAM, faster CPU). I started with quite a low end box and will move it up as needed. Maybe ready to roll by tomorrow, we'll see...? :P
