Gandalf hobbits
« on: April 11, 2011, 06:02:50 pm »
This is a deck I'm helping my friend with and he's going to have a really hard time getting his hands on anything past Bloodlines as this is a real life deck.  Also I know that the site path doesn't fit the Poorman's rules.  My friends don't really care what sites you use as long as your consistent.  Again he has a hard time getting shadow sites.

 Frodo, Reluctant Adventurer
1x Gandalf, Defender of the West

 1x Merry, Loyal Companion
 1x Pippin, (which one)
 1x Sam, Son of Hamfast
1x Boromir, Son of Denethor (Don't ask me why)

 1x Wizard Staff
 4x Hobbit Sword
 1x Shadowfax, Unequaled Steed

 3x Mithrandir, Mithrandir
 2x Peace of Mind
 ???

Sites
 Farmer Maggot's Fields
 Trollshaw Forest
 Council Courtyard

 The Bridge of Khazad-dum

Not sure on these as we need a shadow side.

And that's where I hit the block.  All I managed to come up with.  Need more cards, know any good ones?  Also we need a good shadow for this deck, but we're currently thinking Southrons..  MODS please DON'T move this deck.

Pippin, Friend to Frodo is the obvious choice if you decide to play tales. Honestly its kind of hard to think of stuff for the deck as all you have really is companions? :P
Also, for Boromir, SOD, why not instead use Boromir, Defender of Minas Tirith? With a sword and armor, he's basically a self healing ranger who can't be overwhelmed.

For the shadow, how about a Corsair side? Even without high end rares, you can still make a decent one. Mount Doom stuff shouldn't be extra hard to find.

Oh how did I forget corsairs!  Anyways as for the question about DoMT he's obsessed with SoD and no matter how much I try and talk him out of it he won't leave it be.  We weren't really planning on that many tales but I'll give it a try.

I know this is completely different than what you had in mind, but a cheap Ent deck is probably MUCH more effective than what you're trying to do right now. And you only need a few rares, which aren't really expensive or hard to find at all.
