Summer Goals

Well, it's coming up on the beginning of summer. Since I don't have a Facebook anymore, and things have otherwise been pretty dead around here, I thought I would start a casual discussion. What are things that you want to accomplish this summer?

I don't mind starting out. Since 20 January, I've lost 45 pounds and toned up* quite a bit. A few too many beers over the years had really caught up with me and I decided that I didn't want to get really fat. So I certainly want to continue the great progress that I have made (I've more than eclipsed my goal weight; now it is about toning up).

I've started casually** dating a girl who told me that I need to get some sun. I haven't had a real summer tan since I was about 18, so I guess we can throw that on the list too. Seeing as I am running outdoors more often, I guess it will be a lot easier to accomplish.

I wouldn't mind finding a new job. I've been casually looking around but frankly my job pays very well--almost well-enough for me to live with hating it. So keeping options open there.

Wouldn't mind getting that last Simbelmyne (foil) but I'm no longer actively searching. If you have one you'd part with, shoot me a PM.

Other than that, que será será.

I threw on the most recent picture of me and my younger sister from last month. I've always hated getting my picture taken, but I am trying to change that attitude too. I'm too damned pretty.

So...not exactly the direction I figured this thread would take. So I'm just going to presume:

Kenddrick's Summer Goals: Get laid by someone who is not his ex-girlfriend. Fall deeply in love and get married immediately.

Lurtzy's Summer Goals: Umm...acquire the cards on his trade list. Sorry Lurtzy, you don't post about personal stuff too often.

Hopefully this has gotten the thread back on track.

Academic goals:

Pass vector calculus with an A
Pass the spannish language CLEP test for at least 6 credits
Get hired by my schools tutoring service for the fall semester

Other goals:

Go to Colorado to hang out with my NZ friends
go to kent island and catch fish and eat crabs
improve on my already decent summer tan
earn enough money to actually save some for a change
record some music
play guitar in the streets at least once a month, preferably more
go fishing in VA beach with friends at least once

thats all i can think of right now.

I've heard mixed results on the P90X series, but I am sure that is the sort of thing where, if I stuck to it, I would definitely see results. I'm not going for the ridiculously cut look. Just toned.

Practice guitar.

I have played music my whole life and have played several different instruments. For some reason, very recently, guitar has just completely opened up for me. I mean, I've been strumming the same sets of chords for a few years, but now I am unlocking new things (to me) and sounding less like my background (bass guitar, rhythm instruments in general). Keep practicing!

@macheteman: I'll go fishing with you*.

Well, considering your summer is my winter, my winter plans are as follows:

-Plan a special Valentine's Day (ours is June 12th, in case you're wondering), which will be a Sunday, so a lot of things can be done (a walk on the beach when it's sunny but cold is an AWESOME way to start out a winter Sunday);
-Get my Order of the Stick books finally delivered (if anyone can find Wars and XPs anywhere in the world, I'd be interested in getting, so far my luck with stores in Brazil and the US has not been paying out very well, and it's the only one I'll be missing then) alongside Snips, Snails and Dragon Tales (a limited-print spin-off);
-Get the people from the Imported Cars store near my house to actually deliver my order on time so I don't have to kill anyone for it (or worse, sue them);
-Assuming they DO deliver it on time, prepare my first wedding anniversary (I intend to skip work in the middle of the afternoon, drive to the Courthouse where the missus work, park the car I got her in her private, empty parking spot with a ribbon around it and ask the police officers that I know to make her come down since someone is requesting the spot, since it's been empty lately);
-Take a holiday to skip my sister's wedding (not too keen on spending a lot of money to travel for a party I don't actually want to go to that badly, not to mention hanging out with my mother AND my father, both of wich haven't really gotten along that well with me for some time now, the only thing making hang out with them bearable being the fact that they are divorced, so they're never at the same place at the same time);
-Getting a new, better camera;
-Getting the full Band for "Hero" games for the Xbox-360;
-Getting the raise I hear I'll be getting due to my new "job-inside-the-job" (my new role inside my job, basically), which if rummors are correct, will be quite attractive, enough for me to sit back and just focus on passing the Judge test for the next few years;
-Monitor this whole Kenddrick, ket and Lurtzy triangle thing, see where it goes and keep everyone up to date.

I'd really recommend relaxing with company, instead of alone, if you catch my drift. But that's just me.

Sounds like you have a helluva season planned. Hope everything works out admirably. Congrats on the wedding anniversary and the raise.

More, like, "to plan". The whole "new car" thing is banking on a lot right now, but I'm planning on, if it gets delayed, taking a few days off and going on a trip to Uruguay, or perhaps somewhere in our State where it snows, not sure yet. At least, there is an alternative.
