Its Scottish made Pirate Metal. You know it sounds right.

Weezer - Blue, Pinkerton, and Hurley (and maybe some Maladroit). Amazing stuff, there.

Lol yeah I jut wanted to tell someone about KC. Oh, and Mr Lurtzy's comment remembered me of something. I was the other day with some friends at a record store, and I turned and saw this LP in the center of everything with Hurley's face in the cover, and I was like "this must be the most AWESOME record ever!" So when I got back to my house after that, I looked it up. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a fan of Weezer or anything like them, and I was dissapointed. That LP would have looked amazing in my record shelf.

EDIT: Considering this is a mainly LOTR forum, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend listening to Bo Hansson's Lord of the Rings. It's an instrumental Proggresive Rock concept album based on the story of Lotr. Released in 1970 if I'm not mistaken. It is probably, and coming from me it's to say a lot, the most psychedelic and weirdest music I've ever heard. Seriously, it's just amazing stuff. The songs are fairly short, and it is highly based on The Lord of the Rings, with names like "Leaving the Shire", "The Black Riders", "The Horns of Rohan" etc. The songs are short (the longest I think it's like 4 minutes long) and very captivating and trance-like, so I highly recommend looking some songs up, sit back, close your eyes, and start imaginig the music. Really amazing stuff.

EDIT2: Aaaaand I will speak no more :)

When Mumford and Sons were getting big in the UK, the same lame DJ kept bigging them up, so I totally ignored them.

Now I live in BC, I don't mind hearing them.

Still, I'm a classic rocker at heart.

I am really excited to dive back into this topic, but this past weekend was exhausting and I just finally got home. I'm going to sleep for a few hours before going to work. We'll evaluate later.

A quick response before my run.

I've been listening to a lot of folk music recently (both old and new) as that is something that is always great to listen to while sipping a Pimm's Cup under the summer's sunset.

A friend of mine introduced me to Middle Brother, a new Americana band. Their debut album came out in March but I just listened to it for the first time today. It is worth a few listens. Kind of reminds me of a Will Kimbrough type.

I have been listening to a lot of blues music--just finally found Taj Mahal's debut album on vinyl. It's just great. I'm trying to think of other things off the top of my head but it's very fluid for me and I cycle through a lot and frankly, just want to get outside.

More to come later.

Breaking Benjamin is frickin great. And I have also been listening to OneRepublic and HollyWood Undead with other things as well. But I also have been hooked on Eminem.

If you listen to music while doing several different activities like I do, you might check these out:

-Elbosco, Brahm, Sublime, U2, Vivaldi (and other classics) (for meals and when I'm studying, although in the latter case I scratch U2);
-Lilly Allen, Regina Spektor, Owl City, Train, Akon (for walks);
-Sum 41, Blink 182, Oasis, Offspring, Newfound Glory, Bowling for Soup (for runs and/or driving).

Man, and a ton more. I listen to too much music, perhaps, I can listen to music 24 hours a day (the most byzantine stuff combined, even) and not be bothered by it at all, even while studying, talking, working, etc.

I get a dose of J-pop from watching anime. Many of the songs are rather... peppy, but anyway, here are a few from the Gundam series that I like:

Akatsuki no Kuruma (FictionJunction Yuuka)
Friends (Stephanie)
Men of Destiny (MIO)
