minion archery question

My question is this: If the minion archery comes from, for instance, a vitality one minion, and there is a free peoples archery total of one, and that minion is the only minion out there, then what becomes of the minion archery? Free peoples goes first, so if the minion is killed by archery, is there still the minion archery to deal with?

You are correct, you perform archery actions/abilities first, then you add up the archery total. Any characters in play at that point with the Archer keyword add one to their respective archery total. If there are no Archers in play, they don't contribute to the archery total. HOWEVER, if there was an event or ability used that modified the archery total (such as Cloud of Arrows, Weapons of Isengard, Gondor Bowmen, etc), you still apply those modifiers. So for example, if the shadow player used a Weapons of Isengard, and the FP player killed all minion archers, the minion archery total would still be 2.

Wait, I misread your question. When you are through using Archery abilities, both sides add up their archery total. It doesn't matter if archer minions are killed during the assignment of those archery wounds as the minion archery total was already calculated. Additionally, the FP assigns archery wounds first to their companions anyway.

Hopefully I didn't confuse you.

To restate, perform all Archery events and/or abilities, THEN calculate archery total by adding one for each Archer (still on the table) and applying any modifiers that may have been used, then the archery totals are set in stone. Then the FP assigns archery wounds, then the Shadow assigns archery wounds.
