I introduced my friends to Movie Block because I don't play Standard or anything beyond set 11. So I was introducing them to the game as I play it, not because it was easy. In fact, the game is quite complicated no matter what block you use. But it took about five games for players to really get the hang of it and start making decisions on their own as opposed to with me over a shoulder.
Most cards games require patience. I bought a few Star Wars: CCG decks but I am terrified to learn because that seems like the most complicated game ever. My card playing background includes VS. System TCG (great game, by the way) and a little bit of Magic: The Gathering. I also played MLB Showdown back in the 2000 and 2001 sets of the game.
