Have you ever seen the original actor who played boba fett?  I thought he looked very fitting to be an unmasked fett

He should've had a sweet story as to why he couldn't remove the mask like Dr. Doom. That would've been sweet.

Edit: On record, I think Dr. Doom is one of the cooler comic villains.

"If Jango Fett is so great, why do the Stormtroopers all suck in combat?"

Many stormtroopers (around the time of episode IV) were not clones Jango, as Palpatine didn't want another clone uprising.

I didn't see episode three so I wouldn't know.

Here is another thought about the crappy prequel movies...Let's say Luke Skywalker is 20 at the start of Star Wars: A New Hope (very generous...probably closer to 18). How is it that Obi-Wan Kenobi looks 30 years older in A New Hope as opposed to the second prequel movie?

Helmet, jet pack, and personality. ;) And a fun boss to beat in Dark Forces (anyone else played that game?), if you didn't take the cheesy way out by spamming I.M. mines all over his entrance zone.

I liked what Karen Traviss did with the clones and the Mandalorian culture in general in the Expanded Universe. The Republic Commando novels (Hard Contact, Triple Zero, True Colors, Order 66) were good reads, as was Boba Fett's storyline in the Legacy of the Force series (though the whole Jacen business ended disappointingly, IMO).

I asked myself the same question, and the answer I came up with is that Obi, at the end of E3 is actually 50+ years old.  That is the only explination, the make-up artists just did a poor job making ewin mcgregor look 50.  Otherwise, you're right, Obi is too young to be 60/70 in E4.

I didn't see Episode 3 to know, but at the end of Episode 2 he looked like he was 25. So I just assumed that maybe 20 years passed between episodes 2 and 3, but then Anakin would be like 30 or something, so who knows...

I just watched Empire Strikes Back again. Boba Fett was a terrible shot. I don't know how he could be the son of a famed assassin and be such a terrible shot.

or he just aged really fast which is the explanation given in some EU books

I actually think that the problem was in the earlier prequels.

Anakin in the first movie: 10?
Anakin in the second movie: 25?

Obi-Wan in the first movie: 25?
Obi-Wan in the second movie: 30?

The Force does some amazing things, doesn't it?!

For what it's worth, I heard an explanation given that Tatooine's twin suns did a number on their faces--Ben, Owen, and Beru.

I thought Revenge of the Sith was the highlight of the prequels, but there were some issues that bugged me (spoiler warnings for Ket):

- Anakin's fall to the Dark Side. I thought it was too abrupt, not to mention confusing--one second he stops Windu out of desperation (wasn't a killing blow), the next he's wondering what he's done, and after that he's killing younglings wholesale and calling the Jedi evil. There's a theory going around that Palpatine offered cake and Anakin simply could not resist! The Expanded Universe fills in the details, but someone shouldn't have to read those as a supplement.

- Yoda's decision to go into exile. The duel seemed like a draw (even looked like Palpatine was trying to flee at the very beginning)...it just felt like Yoda gave up too easily. Altogether the prequels weren't kind to his reputation.

- Padme's death. It's not like she can't lose the will to live...more like, why go that route? She's already got taken down so much since Episode 1. I think the EU explains that she actually died of injuries from the force choke.

- The Vaderwail. 'Nuff said.

On the other hand, I thought Order 66 was very well done, and the music for it was perfect. I also liked how in Ben's questioning of Padme, everything was sunlit--almost idyllic--and the music gentle. Great juxtaposition with the evil things happening, and I'd sooner pick that than bolts of lightning out of Frankenstein and the Imperial March playing full volume.

Oh man Dark Forces, Jedi Knight 1 and 2... awesome games.
 Can't do them justice here, but a quick trip down memory lane:

Dark Forces - Dark Troopers were great! Wish later games had their likes. Dropped in a Kell dragon pit in 'naught but my undies...but we gave them the ol' one-two, aye? ;) Final arena, loved to mine the area in front of the tiny lift and hide inside--then when Mohc landed, I'd zoom up to safety while he bounces around on exploding mines. Heh heh.

Jedi Knight - Lightsaber combat (and AT-STs), at last. So many hidden areas to explore. Falling ship took forever to beat. Boc means Force Blind and a Repeater Rifle.

Mysteries of the Sith - Great atmosphere first mission with the wall-busting Stormtroopers. Fun with the Rancor. Sith Temple was creepy. Vornskrs are EVIL...would rather fight Noghri.

Jedi Outcast - Eye-candy lightsaber combat and Force powers (abused Force Lightning too much). Paranoid about bitey critters on Artus. ALWAYS get sniped by the Rodians on Nar Shaddaa (though I do like the parts where I can crash through ceilings). Too bad the main bad guy is an overgrown purple lizard.

Awesome games!

Episode 3 was good enough but not the best one. Old Trilogy for the win as far as I'm conserned.
